In Morocco there is always an afternoon tea time… however this America wife is not great at having a good spread on the table. Most of the time (weekdays) Hdubs has store bought turnovers or cookies or cream puffs. I try to skip tea time or have some fruit and a cup of coffee (#foreverlosingtheweightlossbattle). However today there was no school. Leading to me making my favorite thing ever. Homemade cream cheese danishes! (I also make teriyaki chicken and rice boats … but we ate before I thought about pic. They were served in a pineapple!)
If you would like to make these warm gooey and really not that bad for you danishes… her you go!
4 Ingredient Cream Cheese Danish
1 can of crescent rolls (I use reduced fat)
4oz (1/2) bar of cream cheese (I use reduced fat)
2 tbsp sugar (or Splenda)
1 cup Berries (about) – Whatever berries you want… I love blueberries because they are so juicy
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put the cream cheese in a small bowl and microwave for 20 seconds to soften. Mix cream cheese and sugar together in the small bowl. Unwrap crescent rolls and them out. They come separate into triangles however you are going to dived it into 4 squares by pinching the long sides of the triangle together. Then spoon 1/4 of the cream cheese on to one of the squares and put about 1/4 cup of berries on the dough. To close pinch the diagonal corners. Bake for 13-15 mins or until brown (depending on your crescent rolls).
These are so easy and fast you could make them in the morning during the week! And has Hdubs knows I don’t just throw that idea around lightly.
